about-img_03April Neukam is a physical therapist who has been practicing since February 2007. April graduated from Indiana University in May 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. She then attended Saint Louis University and graduated in December 2006 with a Masters degree in Physical Therapy. She began working in a hospital-based orthopedic and sports medicine facility in Manitowoc, Wisconsin and continued her education toward a clinical doctorate while working as a full time physical therapist. In March 2010, she moved to Chicago where she began working for a privately owned orthopedic and sports-medicine, physical therapy company. At the same time, she was completing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy. Since then, she has completed a number of continuing education courses. Most notably, in June 2013, she obtained an APTA Board Certification as an Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. April is also a Certified Personal Trainer through ACSM and recently partnered with Catalyst Golf Performance to provide physical therapy services to their members as well as the general public. She recently completed a TPI course in January 2014, and is now TPI Certified – Level 1.

April has experience in treating work injuries, as she was the contact person for the work rehabilitation program in her prior position. She also was a member of the endurance program, working with runners and performing video gait analyses. In March 2013, April left her position as a staff physical therapist to begin her own private practice to focus on her idealistic methods of treating and providing individualized patient care in an outpatient, orthopedic and sports medicine setting.

April Neukam Physical Therapy, SC was established in 2013, providing individualized care to those with musculoskeletal disorders. April provides physical therapy services for a variety of disorders to a diverse population with the primary focus on returning each patient/client to their optimal level of function or activity while also helping them achieve their rehabilitation goals.

April enjoys a very active lifestyle herself and spends time participating in a number of sports recreationally. Running is a passion of hers, and she has completed a number of half marathons, marathons, and many other races of varying lengths-even some obstacle races! Her experiences have allowed her to develop an understanding of many different sports and activities, aiding her in helping a variety of athletes on all levels to return to the sports that they love.
